About Us

Glorious Orphanage is a US based 501-C3 that raises funds to provide an education, meals, healthcare care for orphaned and impoverished children in Arusha, Tanzania.

We provide the funding, project management and planning for the Tanzanian NGO, Glorious Orphan’s Care, founded by Alice Mathew and Julius Shuma. Alice and Julius run this orphan-care facility on their own property which serves most notably as a school and provider of food for orphaned children in the surrounding neighborhood.

Many directors of Glorious Orphanage served as volunteers at Glorious Orphan’s care. Upon returning home, they linked up and work together to ensure that the children of Glorious continue to receive the nourishment and education necessary to grow out of poverty and into a greater quality of life.

In December of 2010, Glorious Orphanage launched a sponsorship program which allows donors to sponsor the schooling, meals and a uniform for a child at Glorious. We have also initiated a number of other donation programs which help us to fund building projects and other expenses such as healthcare.

Currently, the children supported by Glorious range in age from 3-13. We plan to grow and expand the orphanage as the kids grow up to insure that they never outgrow our facilities. Ultimately, we will strive to provide the children with a K-12 education. Upon graduation, we plan to provide them with vocational training, or sponsor their college education. However, none of this will be possible without your support. Everything we do relies on donations, and 100% of every donation goes to the orphans. We have no administrative costs as all members of Glorious Orphanage serve on a volunteer basis.
